Fello vs Tele2 – Budget Operator or Major Network? (2026)

Fello and Tele2 target completely different customers — Fello is a pure low-cost operator with no lock-in contract, while Tele2 is one of Sweden’s three major network owners with premium pricing. Here we compare them side by side so you can see exactly what the price difference actually buys you.

Networks

Both give excellent coverage in practice — the difference is that Fello gets the same Telia coverage at a much lower price, since it doesn’t carry the cost of owning and maintaining its own network.

Prices

FelloTele2

Mid-range230 kr/month (40 GB)
Largest370 kr/month (200 GB)519 kr/month (Unlimited Max)

Tele2 has no low-data tier at all — its cheapest plan costs almost three times as much as Fello’s cheapest. Even compared to Fello’s largest plan (200 GB for 370 kr/month), Tele2’s entry price is higher despite offering far less data.

Unlimited data

This is where Tele2 actually wins: it offers unlimited data from 479 kr/month (519 kr/month for “Unlimited Max” with 60 GB of EU roaming). Fello has no unlimited option — 200 GB is the ceiling. If you stream video constantly or never want to think about your data allowance, Tele2’s premium tier might be worth it.

For most people, though, 200 GB is more than enough — and Fello is significantly cheaper.

5G, eSIM and discounted price lists

Both operators include 5G and eSIM as standard. That’s where the similarities end: Fello has separate, discounted price lists for students, 55+ and under 18 (e.g. 20 GB for 120 kr/month as a student, versus the regular 180 kr/month), while Tele2 has no equivalent segment pricing at all. If you belong to one of those groups, the gap in Fello’s favor gets even bigger.

Fello is also carbon offset and has been named Mobile Operator of the Year by Telekomnyheterna & Nordic Bench four years running.

Current campaigns at Fello

Fello’s campaigns rotate — always check their own site before signing up. Right now: 30 kr/month for three months plus double data for as long as you stay a customer. Through our link you also get an extra discounted month on top of that.

Our recommendation

For most people in Sweden, Fello is the clearly better choice — the same Telia network, the same 5G and eSIM, at a fraction of the price. Tele2’s premium pricing is only justified if you genuinely need unlimited data. Otherwise, you’re paying extra for the network’s own brand, not for more value.
